چکیده

A non-autonomous sub-Riemannian problem is considered: Since periodicity with respect to the independent variable is assumed, one can define the averaged problem. In the case of the minimization of the energy, the averaged Hamiltonian remains quadratic in the adjoint variable. When it is non-degenerate, a Riemannian problem and the corresponding metric can be uniquely associated to the averaged problem modulo the orthogonal group of the quadratic form. The analysis is applied to the controlled Kepler equation. Explicit computations provide the averaged Hamiltonian of the Kepler motion in the threedimensional case. The Riemannian metric is given, and the curvature of a special subsytem is evaluated. keywords: periodic sub-Riemannian problems, averaging, Riemannian metrics, minimum energy control, Kepler equation

Geodesic flow of the averaged controlled Kepler equation

A normal form of the Riemannian metric arising when averaging the coplanar controlled Kepler equation is given. This metric is parameterized by two scalar invariants which encode its main properties. The restriction of the metric to S is shown to be conformal to the flat metric on an oblate ellipsoid of revolution, and the associated conjugate locus is observed to be a deformation of the standa...

ON THE LIFTS OF SEMI-RIEMANNIAN METRICS

In this paper, we extend Sasaki metric for tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold and Sasaki-Mok metric for the frame bundle of a Riemannian manifold [I] to the case of a semi-Riemannian vector bundle over a semi- Riemannian manifold. In fact, if E is a semi-Riemannian vector bundle over a semi-Riemannian manifold M, then by using an arbitrary (linear) connection on E, we can make E, as a...

Geometric and numerical techniques in optimal control of the two and three-body problems

The objective of this article is to present geometric and numerical techniques developed to study the orbit transfer between Keplerian elliptic orbits in the two-body problem or between quasi-Keplerian orbits in the EarthMoon transfer when low propulsion is used. We concentrate our study on the energy minimization problem. From Pontryagin’s maximum principle, the optimal solution can be found s...

Identification of Riemannian foliations on the tangent bundle via SODE structure

The geometry of a system of second order differential equations is the geometry of a semispray, which is a globally defined vector field on TM. The metrizability of a given semispray is of special importance. In this paper, the metric associated with the semispray S is applied in order to study some types of foliations on the tangent bundle which are compatible with SODE structure. Indeed, suff...

Concurrent vector fields on Finsler spaces

In this paper, we prove that a non-Riemannian isotropic Berwald metric or a non-Riemannian (α,β) -metric admits no concurrent vector fields.
